Small Business Network Setup and Cabling
Designing and installing office networks for small businesses is something we've been doing as long as we've been in business. That's almost 30 years of experience and knowledge behind every install. If you are looking to create a network for your company or would like to improve and expand an existing one, we can help.
What are the benefits of a small business computer network?
In short, connectivity - a connected office is a productive office. Technology should be an enabler not an inhibitor. An office network allows employees to shares documents and ideas freely and securely. Of course security protocols are carefully put in place to make sure only the right eyes see the right information.
A small business network can increase productivity through:
- Resource sharing - A well designed and thought out company network will allow users to share devices such as printers, scanners and even internet connections.
- Storage and backups - Users will be able to store files and resources centrally on a server instead of on their local machines. This enables a simpler and more effective backup and disaster recovery strategy to be set in place.
- Administer company security policy centrally - Computer settings can be managed centrally and rolled out to all computers. These can include permissions governing what a user can and cannot do on their computers (such as preventing unauthorised software being installed) or even preventing which websites can be accessed.
- Employee collaboration - A network removes barriers for staff to collaborate and encourages informal communication and sharing of ideas.
There are some disadvantages of introducing a network into your office environment. Viruses can spread through the network and potentially infect other computers. There is also an increased risk of hacking that sadly comes as part of much technology these days. This is why it's important to employ a company that has experience and knows how to design a network that will empower your staff while securing your data.

How we provide support
Our clients are all completely different. We give them support depending on their needs. Much of what we do can be performed remotely which means it can usually get done quicker. We are always available to talk directly on the phone and do try and visit our clients as much as is practical. We are and always have been a very people based company.
Traditional tech support and still very popular with many of our clients. Call at any time and speak to your engineer. This will be an engineer assigned to you. You won’t have to explain the problem repeatedly to different people.
Remote support is amazingly effective and we now believe that we can solve 99% of PC problems remotely. An engineer will simply ‘dial in’ to your PC and resolve the issues while you sit back and have a coffee.
We are happy to make on site visits to our clients. Although most problems can now be solved remotely there are some for which a visit is the most appropriate. It also helps us keep our client relationships on a personal level!
